Ordinance Bill 15-23 Amendment to Salem Transportation System Plan

Salem City Council has approved the second reading, Dec 4^th 2023, of the Salem Transportation Plan amendment linking Colorado Drive through the Titan Hill development to Doaks Ferry Road. The West Salem Neighborhood Association offered testimony not opposing a collector street as long as it met the American with Disability Act (ADA) requirements. We offered two possible alignments that would meet the Federal ADA requirements demonstrating that this was possible. The current collector alignment, as approved, allows for a 12% slope not meeting current city Transportation System Plan code and rules. Additionally, it is unclear that this approved alignment by the City Council will meet the Federal ADA requirements.
